Le Marche sits between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Ancona, its capital, is a port city on the Riviera del Conero, flowing green slopes covered by olive orchards, sunflowers and agricultural fields, castle-topped medieval towns and snow-capped Apennine peaks makes Le Marche one of Italy’s great uncharted regions.

Le Marche is so rich in history, art, and beautiful natural landscapes where ancient stories and fantastic legends echo. Every place, every town, even the smallest one, has surprising beauties in store for those who want to visit.
In the province of Fermo there are countless treasures to admire and just as many activities that can be organized for the more adventurist. Just 10 minutes away from Fermo you can find the Castagno with the finest shoe brands and more like Tod’s and Nero Giardini.
1. Fermo
Fermo full of history and best known for its hospitality has so much more to offer than just great restaurants. Fermo has in fact preserved an unspoiled renaissance urban fabric which can be appreciated starting from the main Piazza del Popolo, churches and cathedral, noble palaces, courtyards, and artistic portals. Art Gallery full of late gothic paintings; its Library among the most renowned in Italy with books from the 17th century; range of museums and the real star – Theatre “dell” Aquila, one of the largest and most beautiful theatres in Le Marche.
2. Gorges of Dell’Infernaccio
Protected landscape of beech trees and gorges crossed by trekking routes and an ancient pilgrim trail. The Infernaccio natural Gorge is a popular place for walking. From here you can visit the hidden waterfall, the source of the River Tenna (Capotenna) and the hermitage of San Leonardo.
3. Falerone – Roman Theateer
Considerable remains of a theatre in concrete faced with brickwork, erected in 43 BC, is 49 meters in diameter were excavated in 1838 and are still visible. An amphitheatre, less well preserved, also exists. Between the two is a water reservoir connected with remains of baths.
4. Porto San Giorgio
The beach of Porto San Giorgio is a seaside resort between Lido di Fermo and Marina Palmense on the Adriatic coast. The beach is broad and long, composed of fine sand and rich in services, shops, bars, and restaurants for tourist of all ages. The coastline offers a bike path that runs along the long row of old palm trees.
5. Moresco
Moresco is a beautiful 12th century town with a heptagonal (7 sides) tower standing 25 metres high. The large 16th century bell still chimes every day in alternate succession with the bell on the Clock tower built to guard and defend the castle. Moresco has a interesting story, best to explore yourself.
6. Conero
The Conero Riviera is composed of a unique and varied landscape and has plenty to offer. There are two types of beach resorts. Small resorts lie below the limestone peak of Monte Conero such as Portonovo, Sirolo and Numana. Then there are bigger places with a lively atmosphere and busy nightlife such as Marcelli. Best to reserve your parking beforehand.
7. Frasassi Caves
The Frasassi caves are a karst cave system in the province of Ancona, they are among the most famous show caves in Italy with fascinating underground chambers. One of the largest known cave systems in Europe. Worth a visit.

9. Ascoli Piceno
You wander through the narrow medieval streets full of history. The light shines through the nearly 100 towers in the city. Also, here in Ascoli you will find a Piazza del Popolo, and you can take a rest on the terrace of the famous Caffé Meletti whilst admiring the city. This beautiful city has no less than 27 churches, many squares and is actually a large open-air museum filled with the rich Italian culture, architecture, and history, but also for shopping.
